Would nvidia drivers work fine on a zotac GTX460 without damaging the card?

Ok i seem to be having some driver problems on my GTX460,i noticed there was some flickering lines whenever i played games e.g Witcher 2 and Batman Arkum Asylum. I think new drivers would solve these issues as i think it could not be dust build up coz i dust my PC often. I downloaded xp drivers from Nvidia, are they compatible with zotac graphic cards? All your suggestions and answers are highly appreciated.
