Is it wrong to want a purebred cat?

I grew up with a mixed breed dog that my family adopted from a shelter, and I told myself that I would only adopt mixed breed pets. I still love mixed breed animals and I have a new mixed breed dog, but now I really want a Maine Coon cat. Is it wrong to get a purebred one?
