Why did my hdmi sockets all stop working? sharp 42 lcd new this april.?

I can use my rca jacks to get a picture and sound on my sharp 42" lcd hdtv but none of the five hdmi ports will work. I don't want to give an easy answer to wiseguys but this happened after our power flickered off and back on during a thunderstorm. I'm headed downstairs to try one of our hdmi cables that I'm sure works. I can't use the satellite receiver on hdmi or the dvd player and I've tried all the different ways I could connect them. the only thing that works on either of them is the rca plugs which is analog I think and looks like crap. I know the tv is working, the satellite receiver is working and the dvd play is working. I just can't do hdmi.
